Possibly no other event defines Wishek, ND better than Sauerkraut Day does. From the German music to the vendor show to visiting with friends and neighbors, it truly is a festive occasion that has been going on since 1925. It is the closest you can get to a “harvest festival” in modern times.
Sponsored by the Wishek Association of Commerce, people attend from miles around, and frequently from other states. You’ll see familiar faces, our city officials, and likely our state senators and representatives.
Sauerkraut Day is not just from 11 am to 1 pm. It’s an “almost all-day” affair including Bingo, a Vendor Show at the National Guard Armory, and pie social at the Baptist Church.
